The legal battle between the star of the American series "Modern family" Sofia Vergara to her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb has just taken an improbable turn.
The American actress of Colombian origin is indeed the subject of a pursuit brought by the frozen embryos which she had created with M.Loeb in 2013 when they still formed a couple.
However, it was a pro-life association that filed the complaint with a Louisiana court, a very conservative state.
The embryos called "Emma" and "Isabella" were added to the list of complainants by the association, in the name of their "right to live", reports the New York Post.
According to the prosecution filed, "Emma" and "Isabella", remaining embryos, are deprived of a pension fund which was created for "them" in Louisiana.
It is proposed that the embryos are given to Nick Loeb to inherit this money which must be used for their health care and their education.
The manager of the complainant pro-life association specifies that the contract concluded by the actress and her ex at the Beverly Hills reproduction center, who stipulates that a party cannot act without the consent of the other, is zero becauseHe does not specify what would happen if the couple had to separate.
This twist intervenes as the ex-spouse of Sofia Vergara has initiated a prosecution against her to use and give birth to these embryos through a surrogate mother.
Ms. Vergara has been married since 2015 to American actor Joe Manganiello.
