Country decor – deciphering the aesthetics piece by piece

The country decor goes perfectly with these little stone country houses and thatched roofs that everyone is excited about. Yes, there is no doubt that if you have such a treasure in your possession, you should take advantage of it to furnish it in a decorative style that resembles it. However, if you have a small house in the suburbs or even an apartment in the city, you can also afford to arrange your small country corner after at least knowing the basic rules of arrangement. Today, we'll give you a little helping hand by showcasing the evolution of the country aesthetic piece by piece.

The indispensable

Like any other style, the countryside decor also stands out with certain characteristics of its own that we will get to know today. Because in order to adopt the country style through your home, it is good to start from the decorative bases. So here they are!

Idea how to arrange a kitchen dining room according to the rules of the countryside decoration

Country style living room

Turning now to the living room decorated following the country aesthetic, the first thing to know is that it is extremely warm and welcoming. It is most often a space dressed in neutrals or pastels, arranged around a coffee table in raw wood, surmounted by a vase or flower pot. This is often seen surrounded by a few creamy sofas and armchairs adorned with small cushions with a country print. The fireplace adds extra charm to this perfectly romantic atmosphere. Wood embraces it all, recalling the unfailing relationship between the outdoors and country living.

If we had to describe the countryside living room decor with a single word, it would be the adjective cocooning

The country kitchen

The low cabinet tends to present a wooden facade, whether raw or not. For the heights, we will prefer the wooden and metal shelves, always raw, which will be open, revealing some beautiful pieces of crockery... Themselves inherited from our grandmother who, for her part, also inherited them from her grandmother and so on. A real family treasure! The small glass jars filled with all sorts of aromatic herbs are also there, spreading intoxicating aromas throughout the kitchen. The central island is not a kitchen island, strictly speaking, but rather a workbench surrounded by a raw wooden bench and a few bar chairs. The old enamel plate is a final touch that contributes to the creation of a bucolic vintage atmosphere.

The chic country dining room

Like the living room, the country-style dining room is also organized around a wooden table that quite often sports a rustic look. Around it, we will store chairs either in metal or always in wood, but it is not uncommon to see them replaced by a pretty bench which gives an even more welcoming appearance to the dining room. The mismatched chairs in pastel colors are an original suggestion to further warm the atmosphere. In the center of the table, we quite commonly see a shabby chic style pitcher filled with country flowers. Next door, a vintage dresser which displays our most beautiful crockery, often in a shabby chic style… since it's good to have them close to the dining table.

The country style bedroom

Synonymous with softness, the country style bedroom guarantees you sweet dreams. It is above all thanks to the color scheme deployed throughout the room that we manage to create this little cocooning paradise that seems out of this world. Shades of grey, beige, white with little pastel notes to introduce the colors of life teeming outside. The bed, mainly in wood or in many cases in wrought iron, is overloaded with linen and soft adornment with floral prints. The whole surface of the room is again covered with wood – from the floor, through the wall paneling and sometimes even the ceiling. As a bedside table – a small patinated piece of furniture and as a bed end – a rustic bench, vintage chest or large rattan basket. On the walls – old black and white photographs and retro paintings that invite us to embark on an imaginary journey into the past. The use of rustic objects in wall decoration is also quite common. Repaint the wall behind the bed with wallpaper to have a wonderful headboard that blends well with the rest of the decor.

In the bedroom, a vintage, shabby and raw atmosphere welcomes you gently

Country bathroom

The bathroom cabinet will once again sport a rather raw appearance. To put on it – a washbasin in rough stone or an old zinc basin. The fittings, for their part, will often be in bronze. As a floor covering – concrete, tomettes and cement tiles will be a preferred choice. For the walls, we will again prefer cement tiles and especially those inspired by the metro trend. The bathtub – the centerpiece of the bathroom would also be old-fashioned, often in cast iron and with feet. Unthinkable to put a spa bath in the country style bathroom.
