If you want a simple, chic cut that everyone will love, the bob is the way to go. In its short and sexy version, this square cut has become an emblem of style and elegance. In the end, it is no coincidence that the hairstyle in question remains among the most popular, it has been more than five years already, and that it constantly changes its shape to please girls of all generations … Her last metamorphosis? The so-called tucked bob frankly fabulous!

As we already know, they come in all shapes and sizes imaginable! The romantic wavy bob, the plunging bob with bangs, the degraded short bob… These are just three of its many incarnations that contemporary girls can try to stay in vogue. However, if you are looking for something a little more daring as fall approaches, the tucked bob is totally for you!

Don't worry, because the tucked bob doesn't require too drastic changes if your hair is already medium length. A length between the shoulders and the level of the mandible is considered ideal for this style. Of course, the bolder ladies can cut their hair just below the earlobe which will make our headdress even more dramatic and appealing.

Similarly, depending on your own preferences, you can opt for a classic straight cut or a slightly plunging one. Modestly tapering the ends is another possibility that fits perfectly with this style. What matters is putting the hair around the face behind her ears so that the bob is "tucked". It can be done on one side only or symmetrically, which is, again, a matter of choice.

When it comes to hair structure, the tucked bob also works for perfectly straight hair, and for delicate waves, and for unruly curls. The same goes for color as both blondes and brunettes can successfully enjoy it. Naturally, red-haired girls are not excluded from the list either… In short, it works for everyone!

We have arrived at its majesty, the fringe, and the eternal question: Square with or without fringe? As you have probably already understood, its presence/absence is not so much a matter of personal preferences, but it mostly depends on the contour of your face. Ditto for its shape: a curtain fringe and a short straight fringe do not have the same effect! However, the good news is that you can wear the tucked bob with or without bangs, depending on your body type.

Then, the tucked bob can also take the form of an asymmetrical cut which is currently super trendy. If you don't want to cut your hair this way, however you want to test this hairstyle, you can resort to a simple, but effective trick. Move your parting to the side and pull your hair behind the ear only on that same side. This gives the same “off-center” effect as a proper asymmetrical cut without being a permanent solution.

When it comes to styling, let the back of your hair dry naturally or blow-dry it as you normally do. Then, blow-dry the front sections, gently pulling them back from your face. For best results, use a round brush with mixed bristles. Go for volume at the top of the head and highlights that add soft movement around the cheekbones. Luckily, the tucked bob is one of those low maintenance hairstyles that look flawless at the same time! So what more could you want?

Finally, if you don't dare to take the plunge yet, you can cheat a little and try the fake tucked bob... Make yourself a low ponytail without tightening the elastic too much. Then, tuck its end without your T-shirt and move the elastic a few centimeters down. Only pull out the part of the hair that is just above the elastic. It depends on the length of your mane, but you should be able to make a "fan" of the hair that sticks out. Tousle them a bit with your fingers to create the illusion of a shoulder-length cut.
