Happy Monday! I saw quite a few comments and questions last week on the curtain hanging in a door in my entryway. So I thought I might as well answer the questions and do a post for inspiration also !
I forgot I hadn't mentioned this curtain before, but I actually hung it over the holidays! The idea for the curtain was one I had considered for a long time, but I just wasn't not sure whether or not I should. When I found this cute gray striped curtain panel with the pom poms at Target, I thought I might as well try it!

The panel hangs from a simple white snap rod (like these) so it's really easy to remove if we decide we don't want it later. I just attached the curtain with a string and a hook to mug, fancy!
It might not be everyone's cup of tea or the job in every home, but I love it and it's not permanent, so why not?
We considered so many options for this door, including completely bricking up the opening (and creating a new bedroom/bathroom entry), installing a new door, or building a combination a new bathroom and a new door area.
All of our master/bathroom ideas are still on the table (and I'll be sharing new ideas soon). Since we still haven't decided what or when (or if) we're going to make a bigger change, the curtain was a simple solution for now.
The curtain actually solved a few problems, it was easy to do and the budget was right! It made our room much cozier and quieter and brought a bit of personality to the space. The curtain creates the entrance view of the "parental suite" and offers a little more privacy when we have guests.
Often times I feel like we make solving decorating and design problems way too complicated and too expensive. Even if there is a “better” or more perfect way to do something, I really like it when a simpler solution is used.
We've also hung curtains in the doorways of some of our older homes. I think they can really help define or separate spaces, make a charming design statement as well as help with a drafty doorway. air.
While we're on this topic, I thought you might enjoy some more door curtain inspiration photos.
