If you want to place curtains at the windows of your home or your apartment to gain privacy or simply perfect your decoration, you need to install curtain rods beforehand. An essential step that requires some rules to be respected.
The choice of the curtain rods and supports
Provide a space of at least 10 cm between the rod and the wall of The window, to allow the curtains to slide easily. In addition, the rod must be placed more than 5 cm above the window. Finally, for obvious reasons, it must be longer than the covered window, with an overflow of about 20 cm on each side. The most common pose consists in fixing the supports of the rod on the window wall. It is also possible to suspend the rod on the ceiling, or even fix it on the two perpendicular partitions, if the configurations of your accommodation allow it of course. Always opt for a screwed and pegged installation using an electric drill in the case of a wooden or metal rod. An adhesive installation can only be considered with a plastic mini-tingle.
