How to renovate and redecorate the interior of an RV or travel trailer

Are you thinking of renovating or redecorating your RV? Do you want to get started in the interior renovation of your trailer or motorhome? Get inspired by our ideas, tips and tricks to redo the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, walls and floor of your recreational vehicle.

My adventure began in October 2020 so that I had the crazy idea of getting an RV on Marketplace. My choice fell on a 1995 32-foot Triple E Commander with 155,000 km on the clock!

It needed lots and lots of love to make its 2021 arrival and look like an extratechno luxury RV. Even if it took a lot of work, we are quite proud of the result!

Since it’s a carpet ceiling, we had to completely wash and tear it down to make it smell like new RV. From that point of view, mission accomplished!

Then the floor: goodbye old loft floor, old floating floor, old fashioned carpet in front, and hello modernity and change!

We covered the front of the motorhome and the engine cover with a new carpet, we also changed the floor coverings of the rest of the RV for new quality vinyl.

An economical and durable solution that even removes weight from our recreational vehicle. Perfect for changing the floor of your trailer during renovation.

The original RV kitchen was straight out of the 1990s, there's no denying that. We have worked very hard to transform it into a beautiful modern and high-end piece.

To achieve this, we have completely redone the look of the cabinets, in particular by removing the famous hinges. This is a simple, inexpensive, but particularly effective trick.

You may be getting to know me, but I leave no detail to chance. In my VR, we thought we were in the mirror room of the Palace of Versailles and that had to be changed.

As a result, we not only tore it out, but we modernized it while adding a magnificent accent wall made up of stained wooden strips on a black painted wall.

Check out my tips on how to remove mirrors from RV walls and how to create an accent wall:

At the back is the bedroom of the RV, which has been completely transformed into a real hotel suite.

Accent wall headboard style in vegan leather, lighting worthy of a hotel room, but redesigned for low voltage as well as lots of curtains to prolong our sleep even when the sun has risen the end of the nose.

Even if I crisscross Quebec in my RV to enjoy it, I also need to work there, but everything has been very well thought out as a custom-made piece of furniture at the entrance turns into a desk for when you have to get down to business.

Hours, if not months, of work were needed to accomplish all these renovations. We had a lot of fun documenting everything to make it accessible to everyone to help you or simply inspire you.
