The fringe is a real timeless thing in terms of hairstyle. Straight, long, short… there are so many that we no longer count them. While curtain bangs largely stole the show in 2021, it looks like a little news is gaining traction and it's called the "bottleneck" bang.
The "bottleneck" fringe, what is it?
It's a longer fringe than the curtain fringe and promises to be easier to maintain. Tempting, right? In "bottleneck" there is "bottle", so understand a fringe whose shape is directly inspired by that of bottles. Indeed, it wants to be fine at the level of the hairline, then widens more and more at the level of the eyebrows, and the ears.
Easier to maintain than other bangs, this hairstyle should appeal to the greatest number. In fact, to style it, you simply have to separate the two damp locks, then dry them using your hair dryer and… your fingers. You can also add a small layer of styling wax to it to add texture, by twisting its ends.
If stars like Dakota Johnson or Margot Robbie or even Angèle have adopted it, why not you?
How to get bottleneck bangs?
On Instagram, celebrity hairstylist Tom Smith explains: "To achieve bottleneck bangs, the idea is to start by cutting in the middle, then create a curvature that encircles the eyes, while following the line of the cheekbones." If this seems simple to you, watch out! It is advisable to let a professional hairdresser take care of this hairstyle, to achieve this typical asymmetrical side of this fringe. Tom Smith advises, "Ask your stylist to create longer bangs that skim your cheekbones at an angle that flatters your face, curving all around to create a layer between your cheekbones and jawline."
In addition, this fringe is easily adaptable to enhance all faces. Indeed it is possible to adjust the length and the inclination of the two locks of this fringe, to give the impression that your cheekbones are more or less wide or curved, according to your choice.
