How to make incredibly inexpensive curtain tiebacks in less than five years...

Have you ever walked into a beautifully designed room, looked around, and yelled, “Oh my God, I LOVE those curtain tiebacks! They make the whole room!

Um no. You haven't. No one either, ever.

And when you're on a budget as strict as I am, that's pretty much the last thing you want to spend money on. It's absolutely crazy that you can easily spend $20-$30 on tiebacks for each window of your house! Don't do it.

Stationery

Luckily, there are plenty of ways to make super cheap and easy DIY curtain tiebacks in just minutes...and you might even have all the supplies you need in your house already! But I'll start with the most important: command hooks.

Side note: I'm not sponsored by the Command, but I REALLY should be. I'm their biggest fan.

If you're as obsessed as I am, you know that Command hooks come in a bunch of different sizes and types. There are small clear (holds half a pound), small clear or white with silver hooks (holds half a pound again), medium clears (holds 2 pounds), medium whites (holds 1 pound), fairly large whites (holds 3 pounds), and large mamas: whites which hold 5 pounds, two silver and decorative which contain 5 books: the rounder kind and the finer kind.

If you have any at home with you right now, you're in luck! Any of these will work. However, if you're using a wide ribbon like I did, you might want some using one with a thinner hook. That would be your best bet, but you'll just have to experiment with it. I've also used much smaller hooks.

The only other supplies you need are some sort of ribbon, chain, rope, etc. That's the fun thing about it: you can use ANYTHING to customize your DIY curtain tiebacks.

Instructions

THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET INTENSE HERE.

LOL no. This is basically a joke of a tutorial.

First, stick the command hook on your wall next to your curtain. Then, if you're using ribbon, make small loops at both ends of your ribbon.

Now hook one loop to your control hook, wrap it around your curtain and place the other loop over the hook. And you have….ALL NEW CURTAIN BASE!

Unlimited design ideas

Figuring this out was pretty much an accident. I had just refused to spend money on curtain tiebacks for my daughter's room, but one day I found some ribbons in her room and some hair clips in her room. flowers, so I just threw them together on a whim while she was busy playing.

Honestly, I expected it to look completely cheesy, but it turned out so cute for her tiny bedroom! And my obsession with easy curtain tiebacks began.

*Edit: I know this picture quality is terrible. Please stay tuned while I move into a new house and redo the curtain tiebacks.

Since I only used hair clips that we already had, all the flowers were different. And I loved that for her room.

Inspiration for inexpensive curtain tiebacks

Several months later, after selling that house and moving to Oklahoma, I found a random gold chain in her bedroom.

Why yyyy am I finding so many random things in her room?! Kids are weird.

I knew this would look awesome and more elegant as another type of cheap curtain tieback, and it is. I hope to add more, but this result is still better than spending money. money for boring things!
