Long hair: which haircut to choose?
Not all haircuts are created equal on long hair! Indeed, it will mainly depend on your hair type:
If you have fine hair:
Clément Poiret-Demachy recommends "regularly cut 1 centimeter every 3 months to prevent the hair from thinning, and above all, to use the right shampoos and the right treatments". Against all expectations, he recommends not degrading the hair, or else in a very discreet way: "You can degrade very slightly in the last 2 or 3 centimeters of the hair, but no more.". Indeed, the 33-year-old hairdresser explains that a gradient on long, fine hair is actually counterproductive: "by doing so, we remove all the mass from the hair for nothing, because it gives absolutely no effect volume!". You will understand, no degraded cut! On the other hand, you can go for a long, slightly curtain fringe if you want to give more life to your hairstyle.
If you have wavy and curly hair:
Unlike fine hair if you have wavy or even curly hair, anything goes! You can degrade your hair without hesitation. The reason is very simple: "With the weight of the hair mass, curly hair will lose its tone. Degrading your hair is therefore choosing a better shaped curl and a nice natural volume".
If you have frizzy hair:
On frizzy hair, we avoid degrading too much, and we opt for a slightly straighter, less worked shape. Above all, we focus on good hydration and targeted care because frizzy hair is the most fragile and very sensitive!
How to style long hair easily?
The significant advantage of long hair is that you can achieve a multitude of hairstyles! Braids, chignons and other messy buns are yours. Clément Poiret-Demachy more particularly recommends a fairly high pony tail à la Gigi Hadid, the result of which is super chic, or a half-up, made with two twisted strands held in place by bobby pins.
