We tested: Green Flash, the semi-permanent one that withdraws like a classic varnish

A long-lasting manicure, natural products and an easy deposit? It sounds like a dream. But this is what the varnish brand vegan the Manucurist offers with its new range of semi-permanent Green Flash.

All those who have ever passed through the semi-permanent varnish box will tell you: depositing at home is often complicated. So when we learned that the French brand the Manucurist was releasing a version that withdraws like a classic varnish, we jumped with joy. The promise? "A semi-permanent without the inconveniences!" Verdict.

The concept:

The Manucurist offers a range of green and clean varnishes, composed of up to 84% bio-sourced ingredients of natural origin such as potatoes, cotton, wheat and bamboo. All guaranteed without endocrine disruptors, monomer or hydroquinone. Manucurist varnishes are "9 free", meaning that their formulas do not contain a list of 9 harmful ingredients that are usually present in conventional varnishes. The products are manufactured in France and the brand favours recyclable packaging (glass vials, cardboard).

There are two ranges of varnish: Green, the classic nail polish range and the Green Flash range, which are semi-permanent varnishes that dry under LED lamps.

What's the verdict of the Green Flash semi-permanent varnish?

The installation is done in 3 stages. The base is first applied (catalyzed for 1 minute), then two layers of colour (1 minute each) and finally the top coat (2 minutes under the lamp). The installation is therefore very fast since it takes about ten minutes for both hands. Make sure to apply thin layers as indicated in the instructions, otherwise the catalyzing time will not be adjusted.

The varnish is already opaque with only one layer, but the brand recommends applying two thin layers (with a passage under the UV lamp between each layer). The final rendering is brilliant and more natural than a classic semi-permanent since there is no thick gel effect on the nails.

The brand promises an outfit of up to 10 days. This will vary depending on the use of your hands (household goods, handicrafts, etc.). But also about the nature of your nails. It was noted, for example, that the varnish shelled much faster on fragile nails than on nails with smooth bass.

Finally, the deposit is super easy and it's a big advantage! You Don't have to make butterflies around your fingers, sanding your nails, or arm yourself with paint stripper. A cotton soaked in a solvent without acetone is sufficient. With the Green Flash solvent, the varnish can be easily removed and leaves no stain on the nail.
