Children like to leave their marks in the house. But now the cleaning is less fun for the person who has to erase everything. You want good stuff... here are some:

Marks on furniture or on the wooden floor will miraculously disappear by rubbing them with a cloth and a small amount of mayonnaise.

On a painted wall, a small spray of vegetable oil or WD-40 will make the improvised drawings disappear.

On the wallpaper you will need to warm pencil marks with a hair dryer. Wipe with a paper towel and wash everything with soapy water.

On walls: Crayon marks can be removed with toothpaste, hair spray, household cleaner, Goo-Gone Lemon Oil or a damp sponge dusted with baking soda. Rub gently so as not to wash off the paint.

An old trick from grandma eliminates these pencil marks by simply rubbing them in circular motions with a potato cut in half. It is the starch contained in the potato that will reduce the stains. Finish cleaning with a damp sponge.

Pencil marks will easily disappear with an eraser.

A damp sponge soaked in white vinegar or peroxide (hydrogen peroxide) will remove streaks from most surfaces. Gently dab and finish cleaning with a damp cloth.

The urge to doodle on a blackboard can cause cleaning problems. A spray of WD-40 on the graffiti and a clean rag will remove it in seconds.
