Since 2013, when Virginie first set foot in Madmoizelle's editorial department, she has been delighting readers with her humor and her ultra-sharp beauty expertise. What does she like best about her job as head of section? Highlight the latest innovations in the sector through expert interviews, detailed focuses and “trendy” articles.
And if her relationship to this area is very fusional on paper, it is also so in the private sphere where she never misses an opportunity to take care of her combination skin, by providing it with what it needs. His cute sin? Parapharmacy brands: “I could stay for hours in the dermo-cosmetics departments, studying all the new products. Really, never take me to a pharmacy if you don't want to take root there. »

His morning routine
“I have been taking care of my skin since I was a teenager, when I had some acne problems. Today, since I have fewer imperfections, I am more in the process of pleasure than treatment. Morning and evening, I devote a good quarter of an hour to it, and I never go to bed without removing make-up and moisturizing my skin, even when I see double. I don't really have a routine, I have a few products " essentials” and the rest changes all the time. Thanks to my job, I have the chance to test many skincare products, so I take advantage of it, especially since you are never safe from a good surprise! »
Discover Balance & Purify by Aurelia London at 35€
"In the morning, to wake me up and sweep away the excess sebum produced during the night, I moisten my skin with lukewarm water and I use a cleansing gel, which I lather on my face, insisting a little more on the forehead, nose and chin. Right now I'm using the Balance & Purify by Aurelia London, which is very soft and has a very pleasant tangy scent. In my essentials, there is also the Effaclar cleansing gel from La Roche-Posay (€11.90), which is perfect for purifying the skin but which is a little more robust than the Aurelia. »
Discover the Aqua Rosa lotion from Sanoflore at 28€
“After cleansing my face, I use a lotion as a pre-care step. At the moment, I really like the Aqua Rosa lotion from Sanoflore, which instantly plumps up the skin, or the Multi-Active Toner from Dermalogica (42€), a basic to prepare the skin for other treatments. And when it's pimple warfare on my face, I bring out Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Lotion (20€), which also has an action on pores and inflammation. »
Discover Kiehl’s Vitamin C Anti-Aging Serum at €69
“I only succumbed to the call of serums recently. I did without for very long years, but I must admit that I have seen a real difference in the quality of my skin since I have been using this type of product. Right now, I'm using Kiehl's Anti-Aging Vitamin C Serum, and it's really great! Its texture is very silicone but it melts perfectly on the skin and is completely forgotten. I find that my complexion is brighter when I use it, so I intend to finish the bottle before testing another "radiance" serum. »
Discover the Toleriane soothing moisturizing fluid from La Roche-Posay at €18.95
"I have a problem with day creams: I've tried dozens of them, but there's always something wrong (too greasy, not moisturizing enough, clogs my pores, etc.). The only one that has long found favor in my eyes is La Roche-Posay's Tolériane Ultra Fluide, which has unfortunately been reformulated and whose new version is too rich for me. I have five bottles ahead, but the day will come when I will have to find something else. I have the same concern with sun care, I have not yet found the one that suits my face. »
Discover Caudalie's anti-fatigue eye treatment for €33.95
“Even if I am quite rigorous – I don’t laugh at all with my skincare routine – there is one step that I forget half the time: the eye contour. When I think about it, I use what I have on hand, and it goes without saying that it takes me a long time to finish a treatment that has started. The day I see a real before/after, maybe I'll be more regular, but here I apply more by principle than by conviction. At the moment, the one lying around on my washbasin is Caudalie's Vinergetic C+ anti-fatigue eye care. »
Discover Dior Addict Lipglow moisturizing lip balm by Dior for €37
“I never wear lipstick, but I always apply lip balm before leaving the house! I particularly like the Dior Addict Lipglow Moisturizing Lip Balm by Dior, which envelops the lips without feeling sticky. I have the transparent formula but also a pretty light pink that colors the lips very lightly. »

"Thanks to my job, I have the chance to test many skin care products, so I take advantage of it, especially since we are not never safe from a good surprise! »
Discover the make-up remover balm from Youth To The People for €29.90
Discover La Canopée's gentle vanilla cleansing milk for €19
“Like my accomplice Barbara Olivieri, I swear by double cleansing, even when I'm not wearing makeup. For the first step, I use a balm, an oil or a milk, depending on what I have available in my drawers. Lately, I really liked the Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm from Youth To The People, the make-up remover oil from Vinésime (€31) and the Vanilla Almond Soft Milk from La Canopée. »
Discover Lancôme's fast two-phase make-up remover for €29.90
“Even when I use a balm or an oil, I always remove my eye makeup separately. I find that there is nothing more effective in removing all the mascara, and it avoids the hazy veil on the eyes that very thick products can cause. Lancôme Bi-facil makeup remover is one of my essentials, and I always have a bottle of it in my bathroom. »
Discover Sephora's AHA and BHA smoothing cleanser for €9.90
“To rinse off my makeup remover and cleanse my face, I use a facial cleanser. Often, I opt for a purifying and/or exfoliating formula to detoxify my skin after a long day. Right now, I'm using the Sephora Collection AHA + BHA Smoothing Cleanser, which is great, doesn't lather much but leaves the skin clear. »
Discover the Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant lotion from Youth To The People for 33€
“In the evening, I use an exfoliating lotion to fight against spots, blemishes and dilated pores. Before discovering this type of product, I used grain exfoliators which were much more abrasive for less impressive results. At the moment, I can't do without Youth To The People's Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant lotion, which is a real wonder and leaves my skin as soft as a baby's bottom. Depending on my mood, I also use REN's Ready Steady Glow AHA lotion (32€), which is one of my basics. It's an important step in my skincare routine, and I couldn't do without it. »
Discover The Ordinary’s 2% Salicylic Acid Anhydrous Solution for €6.90
Discover Sunday Riley's Good Genes serum for €95
“In the evening, I focus on exfoliation and cell renewal. Right now, I'm alternating between The Ordinary's 2% Salicylic Acid Anhydrous Solution and Sunday Riley's Good Genes Serum. Since using this combo, I find that my pores are much less visible and my skin is smoother. Most of the time, I don't add any cream on top, or else a mini drop of Tolériane Ultra Fluide from La Roche-Posay, as a matter of principle. »
Discover the 4% sulfur paste from MALIN+GOETZ, €21.40
“Most of the time, if I have small imperfections, I do nothing more than what I do on a daily basis. But when a slightly pissed pimple shows up, I apply an anti-blemish treatment to the intruder until it disappears. I really like the MALIN+GOETZ Sulfur Paste 4%, which is really very effective. In the same genre, I also have a particular attachment to the Pâte grise de Payot (€23), which my mother and my grandmother also use in case of a small pimple, and which almost has a Proust madeleine side to me . »

Discover the Apicia detox mask at 27€
“Once or twice a week, after cleansing my skin, I apply a purifying or radiance mask. At the moment, I have a passion for the Apicia Detox Mask, which should only be left on for a few minutes, but I also like the Moneret Charcoal Mask (28€) or the Purifying Mask with clay from Fresh (27€). When I look for a hydrating formula, I immerse my face in the British Rose mask from The Body Shop (20€), which is marvelous, or the Thirstymud from Glamglow (63€) which smells of caramel. »
