It is to "raise awareness of all the actors about the question of the quality of sorting and more generally, the management of waste", that the metropolis has decided to launch this new experiment in partnership with the City of Villeurbanne.
About twenty sworn agents will now be able to sanction major offenses.
Offenders will first be notified by mail or directly on the ground. In the event of a recurrence, the agents will then be able to draw up a report in the amount of € 35 for a natural person and € 175 for a legal person (donors and syndic of condominiums).
The experiment will be gradually extended throughout the metropolitan territory.
"The experiment that we are launching with the town hall of Villeurbanne aims to raise awareness of the entire population of the question of waste. Better to sort its household waste, respect the filling rules of gray bins and yellow bins and thus facilitateThe work of collection agents must become a reflex for each and everyone, "said Isabelle Petiot, vice-president delegated to reducing waste.
