Who would have guessed that the joints between the tiles are so easy to clean with an ordinary paraffin candle! This method will get rid of dirt, mold and other nasty things that grow in the bathroom, and forever. Conventional household candles are made from paraffin. It is a hydrocarbon, and it is obtained from petroleum products. Highly refined paraffin is white or translucent and suitable for DIY scented candles at home.

Paraffin is therefore a very precious material, and candles are not only good for lighting. They are used in everyday life to protect shoes against moisture because paraffin repels water. The “zero plastic” movement is making a comeback for wax-infused wrapping paper.

Paraffin melts at temperatures above 50°C, so the shower jet is not a problem.

For a perfectionist, one of the biggest challenges in general cleaning is getting rid of the dirt that collects in tile joints. If you don't lack energy and time, you can waste it endlessly or apply easy and ecological tricks. On the other hand, if there is at least one way to do this job quickly and efficiently, why not rely on it!

Here is a simple method that will save you hours of hard work!

Do not frown for lack of confidence! Cleaning tile joints with a simple white candle that you will find in any store is an activity that promises good results. All you have to do is rub the tiles with the edge of the candle, using it like an eraser.

Not only will the dirt be removed, but you will also create a protective layer that will keep your joints clean longer. It's a good idea to wax them every few weeks so they don't turn black or yellow from grime. Water will also be kept away from the wax, which means you'll say goodbye to mold.

Note that the use will be easier if you remove the wick and cut the candle. This done, make the "back and forth" of the candle several times until an impeccable whiteness. Occasionally wipe off the dirt that sticks to the spark plug. When you see that the objective has been achieved, make a final pass over the joints to seal with a thick layer.

In case the accumulated dirt is stubborn, it may be necessary to wash the joints beforehand with other solutions and to wax them afterwards, so that the result is lasting.

For very dirty seals, there are several solutions, for example:

1.A water and vinegar solution can be used on almost any bathroom and kitchen surface against rust. All you have to do is mix equal parts water and vinegar, put the solution in a spray bottle, then apply it to the black lines. Leave on for 15 minutes, then use a soft sponge to clean the joints.

2.You can invest in a steam cleaner as it can be used to wash countless surfaces. It releases a jet of hot steam, which immediately removes dirt, both on textiles and on tiles.

3.Make a paste of bleach and baking soda, which also helps remove lime stains in the toilet bowl. Then apply it to the tile joints, leave to act for an hour and wash with a damp cloth. When applying the paste, you should wear a mask as it releases dangerous chemicals when inhaled. Make sure the area is well ventilated and rinse before closing the door behind you.

4.A mixture of dish detergent, vinegar, salt and water is another effective solution for cleaning tile joints. You will need 250 ml of vinegar, 10 tablespoons of salt and 250 ml of water mixed with 2 tablespoons of liquid dishwashing detergent. Apply this mixture to the tiles, leave to act for about 10 minutes, then rinse well.

A really good idea to keep dirt from building up in tile joints is to apply the vinegar and water solution once every few weeks. If you want to clean the bathroom, spray the solution on the joints before taking a hot shower. After all, it's much better to make a little effort once in a while than a big one once a year!
