The development of the second elevator at the Château de Foix is becoming clearer.Already, last week, the inhabitants of the city were able to see the presence of harnessed teams on the cliff which supports the Fuxean building.
These operations carried out for several days had to get the rock samples to analyze the composition. In the process, the Departmental Council of Ariège has mandated an expert surveyor office in Pamiers to carry out several drone overflights from the heritage site.
Made by Lefèvre's office, these drone flights were responsible for "to make photogrammetric shots of the wall located under the platform that hosts the Trébuchet in order to have a 3D modeling of the work", indicates the Departmental Council ofAriège.Photogrammetry being a technique which consists in making measurements of a scene or an object on the basis of images acquired according to different points of view.
The idea was to obtain a clear modeling of the premises to complete the studies carried out as part of the development of a second elevator which will go up from the Châtelet."The wall and the wall concerned will host the elevator. Thus, they must therefore be particularly analyzed to know their composition and their ability to support the equipment, "adds the body in charge of managing the places.
As a reminder, the development of this second elevator is integrated into the valuation program of the Château de Foix which plans to significantly improve the accessibility of the site for all visitors and particularly people with disabilities. The fact remains that the towers cannot be arranged in this direction, for lack of space.
This development work should start in September 2022.
