General characteristics of Dyson Cyclone V10, V8 Absolute, Omni-Glide and Micro 1.5 kg

You will notice it fairly quickly: the omni-glide and the 1.5 kg microphone, at the same price, share a certain number of characteristics.Especially the faults, moreover ... on their side, the V10 cyclone and the absolute V8, more expensive, are more like the brand's classic guideline. The Absolute V8, meanwhile, is rather poorly comparison, to believe the only figures of this table. We let you judge on piece:

Design of these light aspis-balais of Dyson: color and finesse

What links the three devices and justifies this small study is indeed the lightness of these models.Indeed, it is even the main sale argument of the 1.5 kg microphone, to which the omni-glide has almost nothing to envy. For their part, the Dyson V8 Absolute (2.6 kg) and Cyclone V10 (2.68 kg) will add a small kilogram to the case but, on the whole, they will not do you shoulder, littleimports your Corpulence. In comparison, the outsize weighs no less than 3.5 kg!However, heavy devices generally lose an important element, signature of the Dyson firm: the LCD screen, which offers more or less information depending on the model.Only Cyclone V10 keeps it, making it one of the lightest to have this option. We will quickly pass on the aesthetic aspect: chrome blue, petting red and gold.

The omni-glide, which, in passing, substitutes the gold by a more sober gray, has a special brush with two-rolls of the Fluffy type. They are made of a soft material, mechanized in both directions, which takes the dust in a terrible vintage! In addition, this brush is able to roll from right to left (and vice versa) and take almost any angle!Incredibly practical, it is better suitable for hard floors but also works on carpet and carpet. The other two embarrass only one classic motorized brush.

The Outsider of this small study, the 1.5 kg microphone, is focusing on its great lightness and its price (the cheapest of the tetraptyque despite its € 350).In addition, despite fairly weak general characteristics, let us note the presence of a long luminous sucker tube now in the accessories, which gives it a small value it will need to stand out a little.

User experience: V10 Cyclone, Omni-Glide, 1,5 kg and V8 Absolute microphone

Although the four vacuum cleaners are similar in terms of performance, their various specificities can really seduce several types of consumers.Let's see what!

Let's start with the 1.5 kg microphone, the cheapest in this small study.Admittedly, it is the lightest, but its brush is less sophisticated than the omni-glide.In addition, he does not embark a screen (so no indicator of remaining autonomy), so does he have other advantages on his main rival? In fact, its handle remains much more pleasant to hold than that of the omni-glide, which comes down to a cylinder beast.

Nevertheless, the omni-glide and the 1.5 kg microphone have a slight advantage which differentiates them from the rest of the other Dyson ranges: a button instead of the trigger. Many users will appreciate the gesture, because if the trigger ensures never to vacuum for nothing, its maintenance can be tense for your forearms.Without any transition, we have already seen the advantage of the double roll brush for the omni-glide: remains to turn to the V10 and V8 absolut cyclone.

Dyson Cyclone V10 vs V8 Absolute vs Omni-Glide vs Micro 1,5 : lequel choisir ?

With an LCD screen and a real handle, the V10 cyclone has the best characteristics of the tetrap.Like the Absolute V8, it is activated by means of a trigger and has a high torque, in addition to the traditional fluffy brush. Two very close models, in short, the first being clearly an improved version of the second. Finally, note that the hand vacuum cleaner is available everywhere in this tetrappyque!

With their 14 cyclones, the Dyson Cyclone V10 and V8 Absolute leave with a step ahead of their colleagues, which are satisfied with an 8 cyclone system. In addition, their high torques allow their effectiveness on soft floors (carpets, thick carpets, etc.).But the major differentiating point between the Dyson Cyclone V10 and the other three is that it has 3 speeds.Suffice to say that it provides a most satisfactory suction (rice, crumbs, sheep, etc.) except on hard floors (tiles, parquet, etc.) when it is in turbo mode.Indeed, the suction head sticks to the ground and then becomes much less handy ... As for the noise, it does not exceed 77 dB, but goes below the 70 dB in eco mode, which, as would say theAnother is good, but not top.

For its part, the Absolute V8 manages to do a little better, since it never exceeds 74 dB in max mode, and descends to 66 dB in normal mode. The omni-glide, on the other hand, remains very attractive thanks to its brush which sucks everything on a large perimeter and on almost all floors. With a volume between 66 dB and 70 dB, rivalry is justified!Admittedly, it too only offers two speeds, but there is often one of the superfluous when there are three. Finally, the 1.5 kg microphone ranks good last with its 74 to 81 dB and no particularity concerning its suction head, except the long luminous sucking tube mentioned above ...

On this aspect, the four models are impeccable. This is very important, since neither the V10 cyclone, nor the omni-glid, nor the 1,5 kg microphone, nor the absolute V8 lose aspiration. In addition, the filter is capable of capturing 99.97% of the particles, of a size greater than or equal to 3 microns. So, wherever you pass with each of the four aircraft (floors, walls, fabrics, car seats, etc.), the surface will quickly be sanitized.

As such, it will be admitted that the V10 (and a fortiori the V8) is not free from reproaches on battery longevity. While he announces 1 hour max, it is only in eco mode and without motorized accessory. However, this value is easily divided by two when one of these two conditions is not met. However, we recognize that it is often the same for models of other brands. At least the capacity of 0.76 l (or 0.54 L for the Absolute V8) leaves us a little respite! To return to the omni-glide and its micro 1.5 kg counterpart, we ignore what motivated Dyson to remove two essential assets from the usual user experience of the balais vacuum cleaners. Perhaps this is a way of making a brand device a little more accessible (€ 349 and € 379…)? There is hardly only luxury to pass the useful and pragmatic after the brand image ... The question therefore remains unanswered, and our circumspection with ...

This game does not really contain points of distinction, the general architecture of the devices being relatively similar.Only Cyclone V10 will have a small advantage, with its LCD screen which warns you when an intervention is necessary.

On this point, things remain balanced. The four balais vacuum cleaners have exactly the same qualities and the same defect. This damn parking position that we find mainly in another brand (to discover in our Hoover H-Free 500 Hydro Plus test), we always expect it a little at Dyson. However, it is not likely to happen, we fear it.The storage system is already too ratified with the brand image, namely a wall base (or reception base, with a foot), from which you can however recharge the battery.

Anyway, we appreciate the fact that, for the V10 cyclone as for the Absolute V8 and the 1,5 kg microphone, the wall support included allows you to store accessories in a place where they will not be lost. However, you will have to choose only two among those who integrate the box.

Study results: How to choose your vacuum cleaner among the three lightest of the Dyson firm?

After analysis and deliberations, the following observations emerge…

With the Absolute V8, Dyson succeeds in remaining affordable without losing in essential qualities. No LCD screen? It's ok, as long as we have power, accessories and a minimum of capacity and autonomy ... Consequently, the Absolute V8 will cost you in the € 400 while honorably presenting the recognized prestige of Dyson.Indeed, in addition to the very pleasant design, there remains a master of aspiration, easy to disassemble and maintain, with a complete HEPA filter. Is it worth its € 20 and 50 € more than the omni-glide and micro 1.5 kg?Without a doubt.Would we absolutely want to spend 100 € more for an LCD screen, 20 cl and 20 min additional in capacity and autonomy?Nope ;With this sum, we could almost afford the independent storage support for the wall.

For us, if the 1.5 kg microphone is the lightest and most affordable of this study, it sins by too many places to be truly interesting.Indeed, its fairly mediocre technical characteristics are hardly compensated by something other than the prestige of the brand and the suction functions expected of a good vacuum cleaner. In truth, even if you offer you a dyson because you can afford it, you might as well go on the most successful. However, if you and your apartment are really of modest size, it will keep a suitable value for money.Otherwise, perhaps you will find better deals on our comparison vacuum cleaners!
