The deputy accused the head of state of high treason for his "coup d'etat" of July 25 whose aim was to establish an autocracy and called for his arrest.
He also joined his colleagues deputies from Al Karama and Qalb Tounes in their call for the maintenance of this parliamentary session open under article 80 of the Constitution which stipulates: "In the event of an imminent peril threatening national integrity, the security or independence of the country and hampering the regular functioning of the public authorities, the President of the Republic can take the measures imposed by the state of exception, after consultation with the head of government, of the president of the Assemblyrepresentatives of the people and after having informed the president of the Constitutional Court.He announces these measures in a message to the people.These measures must aim to guarantee, as soon as possible, the return to the regular functioning of the public authorities.During this period, the Assembly of People's Representatives is considered in a state of permanent session (...) ".
The President of the Republic, let us recall, invoked this article to dissolve the government of Hichem Mechichi and freeze the Parliament, on July 25, 2021.
