Because we must, together, move from a disposable society to a sustainable society, the Parisian municipality is proposing a Charter to encourage designers and organizers of events to develop practices that are the most respectful of the public and its environment.
Rental of prestigious venues and municipal halls
The Paris City Hall rents out its vast reception rooms to host private events "including image and values respect the requirements of the City", such as receptions or fashion shows. The rental rates for IIIe République lounges are calculated "on the basis of the prices charged by prestigious Parisian facilities, surface area and of equivalent reception capacity", such as the major municipal museums, the Opéra Garnier or the Louvre Museum. The Hôtel de Lauzun, located at 17 quai d'Anjou, on the north shore of the Île Saint-Louis in the 4th arrondissement, was built in the middle of the 17th century by Charles Gruyn and owes its name to the Duke of Lauzun who resided there from 1682 to 1685. This private mansion, which notably housed Théophile Gautier and Charles Baudelaire, is the property of the City of Paris since 1928. The lounges located in the north wing, the so-called noble part of the Hôtel de Lauzun, are a remarkable example of 17th and 18th century decoration.
